Enigma is a 2001 British-American espionage thriller directed by Michael Apted from a screenplay by Tom Stoppard, based on Robert Harris's novel. Set in March 1943, codebreakers at Bletchley Park scramble to recrack the German naval Enigma cipher when the Nazi U-boats unexpectedly change their codes.
