Katyn is a 2007 Polish historical drama film directed by Andrzej Wajda about the 1940 Katyn massacre, in which thousands of Polish military officers, intellectuals, and civilians were killed by the Soviet NKVD in the Katyn Forest. Wajda's own father was among those killed. The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
