Kundun is a 1997 American biographical war drama film written by Melissa Mathison and directed by Martin Scorsese. Based on the life and writings of Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet, the film depicts his early life from childhood through the 1959 Chinese invasion that forced him into exile.
