Running Free is a 1999 German-American adventure drama directed by Sergei Bodrov, narrated from the perspective of a horse. Set in colonial South West Africa around the time of World War I, a colt named Lucky is born aboard a German cargo ship and, after being orphaned, befriends a young stable boy and escapes into the wild.
