The Grey Zone is a 2001 American Holocaust drama written and directed by Tim Blake Nelson, based on Miklós Nyiszli's memoir. It depicts the 12th Sonderkommando — Jewish prisoners forced to assist the Nazis in the gas chambers and crematoria at Auschwitz-Birkenau — as they plan an uprising in October 1944.
