There Be Dragons is a 2011 historical epic war drama written and directed by Roland Joffé. Set during the Spanish Civil War, it traces the lives of two childhood friends—Josemaria Escriva, founder of Opus Dei, and Manolo Torres—who are separated by political upheaval and end up on opposite sides as war erupts.
