Sand Serpents is a 2009 Canadian made-for-television sci-fi action horror film directed by Jeff Renfroe. The plot follows a group of special forces led by Lieutenant Richard Stanley who arrives in Afghanistan to deal with the Taliban for a final mission, only to be captured before giant sand-dwelling worms emerge from an apparent earthquake. It premiered on Syfy on July 11, 2009.
