Happy New Year is a 2011 American indie drama directed by K. Lorrel Manning, adapted from his Off-Broadway play. The film follows Sgt. Cole Lewis (Michael Cuomo), a war-torn Marine mentally and physically scarred by his time in Iraq, who finds humanity, compassion and friendship among a group of similarly injured veterans in the psychiatric ward at a rundown VA hospital.
