The Broken Tower is a 2011 American biographical drama film directed, written, produced, edited by and starring James Franco. The film is about American poet Hart Crane, who committed suicide at the age of 32 by jumping off the steamship SS Orizaba. Made by Franco as his master's thesis for his MFA in filmmaking from NYU, co-starring Michael Shannon.
